SHARING ROBOTICS WITH OTHERS
JUNIOR ROBOTICS MENTORSHIP
I designed and led a hands-on VEX IQ BaseBot workshop for younger students at Rectory.
I wanted to share what I had learned and show them that robotics can be fun and something they could try themselves.
I planned the lesson, organized the kits, and helped the students through each step of the build.
What I liked most was seeing them become more confident as their robots came together.
I hoped the workshop would make them excited to try robotics again when they reach middle school.

SHARING ROBOTICS BEYOND MY SCHOOL

I wanted to share robotics with students outside my own school too.
I donated Arduino robotic arm kits to students in Ho Chi Minh City and met with them on Zoom.
We worked through how the parts, code, and movement of the robotic arm fit together.
SESSION 1 - CORE CONTROL CONCEPTS
Joystick mapping, ESP-NOW wireless communication, and proportional control for smooth robotic arm movement.
SESSION 2 - CODE & CONTROL REFINEMENT
C++ control logic, PCA9685 servo mapping, dead-zone filtering, motion smoothing, and safety limits.
BRIDGE LAB STUDY
FROM CODE TO PHYSICAL MOVEMENT
Before the Vietnam sessions, I spent time learning how the robotic arm worked. I studied how joystick inputs are read by ESP32 boards and turned into servo movement, including mapping, wireless communication, motion smoothing, and multi-axis control.
My Bridge Lab notes show the steps I worked through to connect the code, electronics, and mechanical parts into one working system.

SHARING WHAT RECTORY IS REALLY LIKE
I was selected as a School Ambassador for the 2026–2027 school year.
My dad went to Rectory too, so the school has been part of my family for a long time, but I also have my own experiences here.
As an ambassador, I enjoy talking with prospective students and families, answering their questions, and sharing what daily life at Rectory is really like.
I hope I can help new students feel a little more comfortable when they first visit.

DESIGNING FOR A SECOND CHANCE
I helped a Korean dog rescue group by making posters and helping build a website for dogs looking for adoptive families in the United States. I wanted more people to see each dog’s story and hopefully help them find a home.

SMALL ACTION, REAL IMPACT
During Korea’s summer monsoon season, I helped clear leaves and trash from street drains so rainwater could flow better. It was simple work, but it showed me that helping a community can start with noticing a small problem and doing something about it.
